Porterville, CA - A historic year deserves a historic celebration!  On July 3, Freedom Fest returns with a patriotic drone show and the largest fireworks display yet, celebrating America's 250th Anniversary and Porterville's 100th year as a Charter City.

Gates open at 3:00 PM and the festivities kick off at 5:00 PM.  Gates will close at 8:45 PM.  The cost of admission is per carload; $15 per pass in advance and $20 the day of (cash only).  Passes can be purchased at the Parks and Leisure Services office inside Centennial Plaza at 15 E. Thurman, Suite A.

With Westwood Street closed at Highway 190 due to ongoing construction, cars can travel to the venue from Scranton Avenue.  The City Council has also authorized a free fare shuttle service to Freedom Fest.  The shuttle will run from the Porterville Transit Center to the Porterville Sports Complex starting at 6:00 PM with departures every 40 minutes. There will also be an additional stop on the south side of the Lowe's parking lot for those on the west side of the city.  The last shuttle will depart the Transit Center at 7:40 PM and arrive at Lowe's at 7:50 PM.  Passengers must be 13 years of age or older to ride without a guardian.
