Porterville, CA - The Porterville Library invites families and community members to our FREE Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Porterville Library located at 50 W. Olive Ave. Suite B.
The celebration will take place behind the library and will feature a special movie showing of The Cat in the Hat (Rated PG), along with a variety of fun activities for children and families. Refreshments will also be provided during the event.
Let your creative side shine with Dr. Seuss–inspired crafts! Participants can make their own hat, silly sock, Lorax mustache, or truffula tree. Guests will also have the opportunity to take photos at a colorful themed backdrop featuring fluffy clouds and rolling hills, perfect for imagining “all the places you’ll go.” A variety of fun props will be available so visitors can disguise themselves as characters from some of Dr. Seuss’s most beloved stories.
While visiting, families are encouraged to explore the library’s Children’s Collection and check out a Dr. Seuss book to continue the celebration at home. This free event is open to the public and designed for families of all ages. Join us for an afternoon of stories, creativity, and Seussian fun. Hip, hip, hooray for Dr. Seuss Day!
