Porterville, CA - The Porterville Library invites community members of all ages to join this year’s Summer Reading Program, running from June 6th through August 9th. Inspired by the theme “Plant a Seed, Read!,” the program encourages readers to grow their love of books all summer long.
The program will kick off on Saturday, June 6, with a free “Paint Your Own Planter” event from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Porterville Library, located at 50 W. Olive Ave., Suite B, Porterville, CA 93257. Attendees can enjoy a movie screening while decorating a ceramic planter to take home as part of the celebration.
Readers of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Summer Reading Program. Participants may sign up at the library’s front desk and receive a reading log to begin tracking their progress. For every five books read, participants will earn an entry into a raffle prize drawing. At the conclusion of the program, one winner from each age category will be selected.
In addition to raffle opportunities, readers can earn milestone rewards throughout the summer by turning in completed reading logs. Whether you’re discovering new favorites or revisiting beloved classics, the library invites the community to explore the stories blooming on its shelves this season.
