Porterville, CA - The City of Porterville, in partnership with the Porterville Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce the official launch of the 2025 Shop Local Campaign. This annual initiative encourages residents to support local businesses and celebrate the unique shops, restaurants, and services that make Porterville a vibrant community.
From October through December, community members are invited to join the campaign by following @ChoosePorterville on Facebook and Instagram. Participants can take part by:
- Shopping at local businesses and tagging them on @ChoosePorterville and on their posts and stories to show support.
- Sharing photos and videos of their favorite local shopping, dining, or service experiences.
- Voting in weekly polls (e.g., “Favorite coffee spot in Porterville” or “Best place to buy gifts”).
- Commenting and engaging on featured posts to share their recommendations and experiences.
- Using campaign hashtags, like #ChoosePorterville and #ShopPorterville2025, to amplify their posts.
- Liking, sharing, and reposting City and Chamber content to help spread the word.
- Watching for industry spotlights each week and supporting businesses in that sector (e.g., food, fashion, wellness).
- Highlighting special deals, drawings, or giveaways offered by local businesses.
New for 2025, the campaign is expanding to give even more businesses the opportunity to be featured. Each week, new social media posts will spotlight various industry or business types, such as restaurants, clothing shops, or service providers. In addition, local businesses are encouraged to tag themselves in campaign posts, helping to increase visibility and engagement directly from their own social media presence.
Last year, the campaign reached 50 local businesses, a milestone we are proud of. This year, we are aiming even higher, with a goal to exceed that number and connect with more of Porterville’s vibrant business community.
The City and Chamber invite residents to stay engaged throughout the campaign and encourage friends and family to join in celebrating local businesses. Every tag, share, and post helps shine a spotlight on the amazing businesses that call Porterville home.
